Purpose of the Program

Purpose of the FORCLIMSOC Core Program is to contribute to the implementation of the Strategic Institutional Development Plan of INCDS “Marin Drăcea” for the period 2023-2027, developed in relation to the priorities, targets and objectives of the Research, Innovation and Smart Specialization Strategy (SNCISI) 2022-2027, by ensuring, on scientific bases, of increasing the capacity, quality and competitiveness of research – development and innovation in the forestry field and finding solutions for adapting to climate change and mitigating their effects, respectively to current societal challenges, with an impact on people’s quality of life.

Objectives of the FORCLIMSOC Program

Starting from the purpose of the FORCLIMSOC Core Program to contribute to the implementation of the Strategic Institutional Development Plan of INCDS Marin Drăcea for the period 2023-2027, its objectives, correlated with those of SNCISI for the period 2022-2027 and in complementarity with other sectoral strategies and programs Research national, European and international (PNCDI IV, Sectoral Plans, POCIDIF, POR, Horizon Europe, ERA – Net Programs, Life+, SEE, etc.) were established taking into account the oriented and diversified theme of the Institute, in relation to the priorities of the forestry sector and environment in the conditions of climate change and current societal challenges, the achievement of which should be possible by fully achieving the objectives of the component projects of the Program.

The objectives of the proposed FORCLIMSOC Core Program will be achieved through the implementation of its component projects, specific to each objective and refer to:

 

O1. Assessment of the action of climatic factors, atmospheric pollution and pests and pathogens on the state of forest ecosystems.

O2. Ensuring the sustainable management of forests and other categories of forest vegetation and their contribution to mitigating the effects of climate change and other stress factors.

O3. Improving and preserving the genetic diversity of forests, hunting fauna and their biodiversity.
